Description
Continuous miner operator loading coal into a shuttle car. These machines are 36 feet long and 11 feet wide and weigh 50 tons. I loaded coal for three years on one of these machines very dangerous work .1000 feet down and 8 miles from the elevator makes you think what the heck are you doing there ? Both my grandfathers ,father, uncles and myself worked in the mines.Altogether around 200 years underground mining coal.Painting by Jeffrey Koss
